(WGXA) — Communities across Middle Georgia are celebrating the U.S.A.’s 250th Birthday with fireworks, live music and family-fun events this weekend.
Here’s how and where you can celebrate the Fourth of July in honor of our nation’s independence:
Macon
29th Annual Sparks Over the Park
- Celebrate Independence Day at Macon-Bibb County’s annual fireworks at Lake Tobosofkee. Gates to Clayton, Sandy Beach and Arrowhead parks open at 8 AM with a live concert from the Plum Tuckered Band starting at 6:30 PM. The fireworks show will begin at 9:15 PM, with Sandy Beach offering the best view. Tickets are $3, children six and under are free and gates close at 8:00 PM.
Fourth of July Hotdog Happy Hour
- From noon to 5 PM this Fourth of July, get a free hot dog for every pint of beer purchased at Fall Line Brewing Co. in downtown Macon.
4th of July Party featuring DJ Steel
- The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom will be “red, white and loud ” on July 4, featuring live Hip- Hop, Pop and Grunge music from DJ Steel starting at 9 :30 PM.
Rock the 4th at Society Garden
- Catch live music from Fuzzy Wuzzy, Sweet Meteor of Death, and locals Sister Sandoz at the Society Garden starting at 6 PM.
Fourth of July Celebration at the Legion
- Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with the American Legion Post 3 at 5530 Thomaston Road starting at 5 PM. Get a free hot dog and apple pie while enjoying music from classic country rock band Affinity from 6:30 to 10:30 PM.
Warner Robins
Captain America at Giggle Town for the 4th of July
- Celebrate Independence Day with the U.S.A.’s favorite superhero, Captain America! The meet-and-greet at Giggle Town Warner Robins will last from 11 AM to noon, and afterward, stay cool with indoor play place fun for the kids.
The City of Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza
- Let freedom ring with live music from Kool and the Gang, Phillip Phillips and Cam Vance at Warner Robins annual Fourth of July celebration! The celebration will also feature food vendors, family-friendly activities and a fireworks show to close out the evening. Gates open at 6 PM at the Mcconeel Talbert Stadium.
Centerville
USA 250th Anniversary Independence Day Celebration on July 3
- The city of Centerville is honoring America 250 with live music, family-friendly fun, food trucks, fireworks and more at Center Park on 103 E. Church Street from 3 PM to 10 PM on Friday.
Perry
Red, White and Boom: Independence Day Celebration
- Bring your family and friends for a “starspangled” evening featuring live music from DJ Mixmaster T, food vendors, classic BBQ and fun for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets to Historic Downtown Perry starting at 7 PM and end the night with a fireworks show!
Forsyth
Independence Day Celebration: Fireworks over Forsyth
- Downtown Forsyth will be lighting up the sky with Freedom Fireworks, live music, family fun and food trucks starting at 7:30 PM on July 5! Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and find the parking details at the link above.
Juliette 4th of July Celebration
- Head to Juliette Park to catch a fireworks show while snacking on snow cones and watermelons starting at 7 PM on July 4!
Milledgeville
- The city of Milledgeville is celebrating Independence Day with a fireworks show at dusk on July 3 at Central Georgia Technical College. The campus parking lot will be closed, so visitors can view the show from Walter B. Williams Park and the Board of Education parking lot.
Jackson
4th of July Fireworks in Hawkins
- Celebrate our nation’s independence in the filming location of Netflix’s own Stranger Things, right in Jackson, GA! The celebration will be at Butts County Recreation Center on 576 Ernest and Pat Biled Dr., featuring food trucks and a fireworks show at the end of the night.
Eatonton
4th of July Extravaganza: 250th Anniversary!
- Eatonton is celebrating America’s Birthday at Oconee Springs Park, featuring a massive water slide, face painting, games, popcorn and live music from the Cool Water Kings and Fiddle in the band. At the end of the night, you can settle in for a fireworks show over Lake Sinclair. The event will kick off at 4 PM!
Dublin
- Catch a free fireworks show from 9 PM to 10 PM on Friday, July 3, at Southern Pines Recreation and Water Park in Dublin.
Cochran
Stars, Stripes and Summer Nights 250!
- Bring your friends and family to Downtown Cochran for an evening full of events, including a food contest, golf cart parade, a mile fun run and 5K race, live music from Son of Midnight and more family-friendly activities. The event kicks off on Saturday at 5 PM and ends with a fireworks show at dark.
Montezuma
- Downtown Montezuma is celebrating America’s freedom all day long! From 7 AM to dusk, you can celebrate Independence Day with a pancake breakfast at the local fire station, followed by a parade starting at Monteezume High School, a Pioneer Cemetery historic presentation, food and family-friendly fun on the square, live music from Joah Seymour and a fireworks show on Lake Ponderosa at the end of the night.
Wrightsville
Wrightville-Johnson County 4th of July Celebration
- Celebrated Fourth of July in Downtown Wrightsville with arts and crafts, a street dance featuring live music from Do Davisdson and a community fireworks show at Johnson County Recreation Department from 6 PM to 10:00 PM on July 3.
Pineview
- The Cordele, Hawkinsville, Wilcox County, Eastman, Fitzgerald, Vienna, Cochran, and all surrounding communities are invited to celebrate the Fourth of July at this event at Pineview Community Park, featuring live music from iSTUNTuWATCH and DJ Ronnie Hobes, a BBQ grill-off, vendors and fun activities for all ages. Tickets are $5, and kids nine and under are free.
Thomaston
9th Annual City of Thomaston Freedom Festival
- Join the Thomaston community for a day honoring American freedom from 4 PM to 10 PM at the Greatest Generation Memorial Park. The event will feature a parade, food-eating contests, performances from the Upson Line Dancers, live music from Montgomery Pike and Full Circle band, family-friendly activities and of course, fireworks at dark.
Sandersville
Independence Day 250th Celebration
- Downtown Sanderville kicks off its freedom celebration early, honoring patriots with family-fun activities, shopping, food trucks and a fire truck sprinkler from 11 AM to 2 PM on July 3.
Barnesville
Barnesville’s 200th Bicentennial this 4th of July
- The city of Barnesville is celebrating Independence Day and its founding with all-day activities, from a parade and picnic at the Summer Field Park to hot air balloon rides and fireworks at the end of the night. Balloon ride tickets are $50 each.
Cordele
America 250: Cordele-Crisp Community Celebration
- Join the Cordele-Crisp County Community in their America 250 celebration featuring a free hot dog lunch, games and activities for all ages for from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Georgia Veteran Memorial State Park on Highway 280 West.
Eastman
4th of July Grillin and Chillin Family Parade
- In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Eastman-Dodge County community will have a parade featuring vintage tractors, veterans an first responders, live music from Blackwater, food and local vendors and a fireworks show at dusk. The parade will kick off at 1:00 PM and all activities will be in Downtown Eastman and the Chas Mar Parking Lot.
Vidalia
Vidalia’s July 4th Celebration
- Celebrate Independence Day with free live music from the Official and Original Jimmy Buffet, games and vendors for all ages, and fireworks. Visitors are encouraged to come in their best Partriotic of “Parrot Head” gear.
