Fox News correspondent Anita Vogel returned to work after taking several months off to cope with difficult life changes.

“2025 was a heartbreaking and tragic year for our family,” Vogel, 56, wrote via X on Friday, January 31. “After surviving the Palisades Fire in January, we then lost my beloved husband to complications of pancreatic cancer in October. It has been the hardest of times for our family.”

Although Vogel tried to keep her hardships off social media, the journalist wanted to share the news with her loyal viewers before appearing on camera once again.

“I’ve taken several months off to deal with the unimaginable loss and by the grace of God, we are moving forward one day at a time,” she continued. “Part of the healing journey includes slowly getting back to work to help bring a sense of normalcy and so that’s what I’m now doing.”

Los Angeles saw a frightening natural weather event — and its star-studded community has been heavily impacted. An extreme wind storm, caused by Santa Ana gusts, sparked fast-burning brush fires at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, with drivers along Sunset Boulevard and Palisades Drive abandoning their cars to seek safety, according to the […]

Vogel continued, “We kept this very quiet but thank you to friends and family for all your support. I’m looking forward to a great show tonight with the most lovely cast. Thanks to all the loyal fans who always tune in and we’ll see you tonight. God Bless you all.”

Soon after sharing her news, Vogel received support from many of her followers and her coworkers.

“So many of us that watch and appreciate your talent as a news person are wrapping their arms around you and your family,” one user wrote via X. “I can only imagine how proud your husband was of you.”

FOX & Friends Weekend cohost Griff Jenkins added, “Our hearts break for my colleague @AnitaJVogel during this difficult time. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Anita is one of the most amazing, talented and kindest people you will ever meet — and we need to lift her up during this tragic time. Praying for you Anita, and welcoming you back with open arms.”

Although Vogel kept much of her 2025 off social media, the Fox News fill-in anchor previously shared a glimpse into how much she loved her neighborhood in Pacific Palisades, California.

The Los Angeles neighborhood was nearly destroyed after a January 2025 fire scorched more than 23,000 acres, resulting in the loss of more than 6,800 structures.

Los Angeles Mayor candidate Spencer Pratt, Miles Teller, Milo Ventimiglia, Bryan Greenberg and Melissa Rivers were just some of the stars who lost their homes.

“I lived in the Palisades on and off for nearly 15 years. It’s one of the most special places in the country,” Vogel previously wrote via Instagram in January 2025. “Every year, it has a Fourth of July parade that brings the entire town together. I’m happy I snapped some photographs this past July. I’m holding onto these memories as we pray for all the victims who lost their homes and their whole worlds. We ask God to provide strength to every one of these families in the coming days 🙏🙏🙏.”

Vogel has been able to return to her neighborhood and celebrated “small miracles” in the area, including the Palisades Garden Cafe reopening.
