Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been spotted in Windsor today wearing a jumper that is a nod to his past. The former Duke of York, 65, was seen driving a car in the town wearing a Grenadier Guards jumper.
The purple jumper was no doubt something the former prince had as a result of his past role as a Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. This was a role he had for four years, after taking it on from Prince Philip in December 2017, to losing it in 2022 when he lost his military titles. This was a move that came about when his mum Queen Elizabeth II stripped Andrew of his honorary affiliations with the armed forces in 2022 as a result of scandals surrounding Andrew and his past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The former prince is expected to leave the 30-room mansion within the next few weeks and relocate to Sandringham. This is a move that has come about following yet more scandals surrounding Andrew’s past friendship with Epstein.
Andrew continues to deny all accusations against him.
While the former duke has not commented on how he is feeling ahead of his eviction from Royal Lodge, a friend of Andrew’s told The Daily Mail that they are concerned about the “fragile” state he is in, alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The pair have kept a low profile since losing their royal titles in October, with Andrew having only been seen out horse-riding around the Windsor estate or in his car.
While Andrew and Sarah have remained good friends since their divorce, and have even co-habited Royal Lodge together since 2008, it is believed they are just days away from going their separate ways.
