Frankie Muniz and wife Paige Price Muniz are getting divorced after six years of marriage.
“Following a period of separation that we kept private, Paige and I have decided to move forward with ending our marriage,” Frankie, 40, captioned a joint Instagram video on Wednesday, July 1, sharing a “life update.”
Frankie and Paige, 33, were dancing to We The Kings’ “Check Yes Juliet” in the video, which featured their 5-year-old son Mauz.
“After 10 beautiful years together, we’ve grown in ways that made us realize our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents,” their statement continued. “We share an incredible son who remains the center of our world, and we’re both happier, stronger parents because of the love and growth we’ve shared.”
Frankie wrote that he’s “endlessly grateful” to his estranged wife for the part she’s played in his life.
“She put her own dreams on hold so I could chase mine, and she was always my biggest supporter,” he added. “That foundation of respect and friendship isn’t going anywhere. We’re excited to keep building Muniz Racing together and to co-parent our boy with the same teamwork and love we’ve always had.”
The caption concluded, “We’re closing one chapter with gratitude and opening the next with bright futures ahead, for us as individuals and especially for our son. Thank you for the love and support. We both choose to not entertain any questions on this matter. Please respect our families privacy during this time.”
Frankie and Paige started dating in 2016. They were engaged by 2018 and said “I do” the following year. The former couple expanded their family with son Mauz in March 2021.
Frankie spoke with Us Weekly exclusively earlier this year, revealing that it’s been “very hard” to balance his personal life and career.
“Honestly, my wife is a saint,” he said at the time. “She’s sacrificing so much for me to live my dream.”
Frankie noted that he has a “hard time” being on the road 300 days out of the year for both racing and acting.
“It’s hard to uproot them and take them all over the place,” he explained. “I want my son to have a routine and his school and his friends and go to church. I’m not going to lie, it’s been very, very, very tough.”
Frankie said she was “basically a single mother a lot” because of how often he’s away.
“I’m going to say this right now, I have to be better than I currently am,” he said. “I know that 100 percent [my family] deserves it.”
