Big girls, it is said, don’t cry. But there might be some tears of joy shed over this news.
Legendary singer Frankie Valli, who had numerous hits in the 1960s and ‘70s as the leading member of the vocal group The Four Seasons, is coming to Hershey.
Valli, 91, will perform with the latest rendition of the Four Seasons at the Hershey Theatre at 7:30 p.m. April 24.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com.
The Four Seasons had 29 top 40 hits, including “Sherry” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).”
As a solo artist Valli had two number-one hits with “My Eyes Adored You” and “Grease,” the title song from the popular 1978 movie.
Valli’s life inspired the hit Broadway musical “Jersey Boys,” which is the 12th longest-running show on Broadway and has been seen by over 30 million people. It was made into a movie in 2014 by Clint Eastwood.
Valli, along with the other original members of the Four Seasons, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
