Franklinton-Lakeshore football game to air on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network Friday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – After a pair of instant classics a year ago, District 7-4A rivals Franklinton and Lakeshore renew their rivalry Friday night on Crescent City Sports.

Kickoff from Mandeville is scheduled for 7 p.m., with coverage on CCS beginning at 6:50.

Ken Berthelot and Wayde Keiser will describe the action.

The broadcast will also air live on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network, the second game in a new partnership with CCS.

Last year, Franklinton won the regular season meeting 35-28, and in the Division II Non-Select quarterfinals seven weeks later, the Demons won again 41-40 en route to reaching the state championship game.

As district play begins this week, Franklinton is 3-2 and Lakeshore 4-1, with both looking to bounce back from losses in Week 5.

The Titans are third and the Demons fifth in the Division II Non-Select power rankings.

Both programs, and both coaches, are very familiar with trips to the Superdome.

Franklinton won a Class 4A championship in 2010 and has played in four other championship games. Lakeshore reached the 4A title game in 2017.

Franklinton’s Nick Saltaformaggio coached East Jefferson to a Class 4A championship and also Hahnville to the title game before getting the Demons there a year ago. Lakeshore’s Brent Indest took Catholic of New Iberia to a state title in Division III.

Both coaches have topped the 200-win mark in their careers, Indest in 2023 and Saltaformaggio earlier this season.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 15th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced nearly 600 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2025-26.
