Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House alongside Bob Saget, shared a poignant post about grief on the death anniversary of both Saget and her mother, Sherry Barber.
“It feels like I’m slowly losing the most important people in my life—an inevitable part of aging, I suppose,” she wrote on Jan. 9 alongside photos with Sherry and Saget. “Today marks five years since I lost my mom, and four since we lost Bob. Last year I lost my soul dog, Holly, which only deepens the grief I already feel.”

“The sharpness of grief does soften with time. I don’t feel suffocated by it the way I once did. But it never leaves,” she wrote, adding that on this occasion, the “scab [lifted] for a moment and reflection [rushed] in.”
The actress reflected on everything that’s happened since her mom’s death and the “signs” she gets that she is still around. Then she talked about her former costar and how much she misses him.

“It’s strange to live in a world where Bob’s voice exists only in memory. I never imagined him being this quiet, even in death,” she wrote. “I hope he knows how often we talk about him here. How deeply he is loved. Every single day.”
She also shared what a “gift” it’s been rewatching the series with her costar Jodie Sweetin for their How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast, and how it helped her “rediscover Bob’s brilliance.”
“It’s the micro-moments: the glint in his eye as he tries to avoid breaking in front of Dave [Coulier], the lines that I just know he ad-libbed. The Danny Tanner heart scenes that still bring a tear to my eye,” she said. “What a gift it’s been to watch him shine nearly four decades later.”
The Full Housefamily sent lots of love to Barber in the comments. Dave Coulier’s wife, Melissa Coulier, wrote, “Love you! Wrapping you up in a big hug,” while Candace Cameron Bure wrote “Love you.” One-time Full House guest star Danielle Fischel added, “So beautifully said, Andrea. Sending you love and thank you for sharing your heart with all of us.”

Saget died unexpectedly in January 2022 at the age of 65. He suffered a blunt head trauma, specifically a subdural hematoma, most likely from an unwitnessed fall, in an Orlando hotel room following a stand-up performance. His death was ruled an accident by medical examiners, and there was no evidence of drugs or foul play.
