Future Islands are gearing up to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a new compilation album titled From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth, out May 22nd via 4AD. To preview the collection, which houses both familiar tunes and rarities, the act has unveiled two new songs, “Sail” and “Find Love.”

As the press release tells it, From a Hole in the Floor to a Fountain of Youth details the two-decade journey that Future Islands have embarked upon over two LPs. In addition to the pair of new tracks, the release includes an eclectic mix of “alternate hits, rarities, and fan favorites,” many of which have never before been available on streaming platforms.

“I’ve always loved the imagery of that lyric,” said bassist William Cashion, who selected the title and first gathered the crop of songs. “The hole in the floor is the everyday, but the fountain is the magic that happens when the life you dreamed about actually becomes the one you’re living. It’s the dream and the reality existing in the same room… This is for everyone who has carried these songs with them, from the first house parties to the rooms we’re playing today.”
