Westeros and Hogwarts joined forces in a remarkable collaboration as actors from the Game of Thrones realm graced the red carpet alongside the new young stars of the Harry Potter television series during the HBO Max launch event in London. Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton, who portray Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in the forthcoming series reboot of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, were present, accompanied by cast members from House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. HBO Max has expanded its reach into the UK and Ireland, and the actors from its acclaimed shows came together to celebrate the streaming platform’s growing influence in the OTT market there.

Following the release of the first teaser for Harry Potter’s Season 1 – The Philosopher’s Stone, Dominic, Alastair, and Arabella made their debut on the red carpet as a trio. The event was hosted at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London’s Southbank Centre, and fans were delighted to witness HBO showcasing talent from its diverse array of shows that will be available in this region.

Directly from the realm of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, actors Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, James Norton, Fabien Frankel, Harry Collett, Tom Glynn-Carney, Phia Saban, Matthew Needham, Phoebe Campbell, Bertie Carvel, Shaun Thomas, and Sam Spruell were in attendance, along with Dexter Sol Ansell, who portrays Prince Aegon “Egg” Targaryen.

Other notable attendees included Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King (The Comeback), Steve Carell, Phil Dunster, and Charly Clive (Rooster), Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt), True Whitaker and Jordan Firstman (I Love LA), David Chase (The Sopranos), Sharon Horgan (Youth), Marisa Abela (Industry), Aimee Lou Wood and Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus), Linda Cardellini and Joy Sunday (DTF St. Louis), Sirine Saba (Harry Potter), and Peter Safran (co-chairman and CEO of DC Studios). Bella Ramsey, Ben Kay, James Norton, Tom Rhys Harris, Amy Manson, Linda Cardellini, Henry Ashton, Sagar Radia, and Shaun Thomas were also present.

HBO also hosted an exclusive preview of the eagerly awaited Harry Potter series prior to the party.

HBO Max made its debut in the UK amidst discussions regarding the potential impact of Paramount Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, which includes plans to merge HBO with Paramount+.
