The Kansas City Royals got blasted on Friday night but bounced back with a 2-0 shutout win last night in the Twin Cities, a place that has been a nightmare for them to play at for years. Noah Cameron continued his fantastic rookie campaign, and the bullpen shut the door. The offense did just enough to pull it out.
On this long 9-game road trip through Toronto, Boston and Minnesota, the Royals have gone 4-4 so far, taking 2 of 3 against the Blue Jays, dropping 2 of 3 in Boston and now splitting the first two in Minnesota. Today’s contest will determine if this is a winning road trip or not for the boys in blue, who are 58-59 on the season and still 4 games out of the last wild card spot.
Ryan Bergert gets his second start with the Royals after a good first start in Boston, Bergert took the loss, but the deciding run was scored after he was taken out. Bobby Witt Jr. will get the day off, and Salvador Perez will be playing 1st today, so Luke Maile makes his second start of the road trip.

The Minnesota Twins have torn everything down after the deadline, but the guys that stayed or have been called up are playing rather well, as they took 2 of 3 in Detroit earlier this week, before coming back home to split the first two games with the Royals. Byron Buxton still remains out with injury. Jose Urena will get the start today for the Twins.
