Gavin Rossdale is having a resurgent moment.

The ’90s alt-rock singer (and sometimes actor, see “Constantine”) is back on tour with his band, Bush, and just off a performance at this year’s Stagecoach Music Festival (where he played through a windstorm that eventually led to an evacuation). There was a new album out last year.

While Fresno didn’t land a date on the band’s Land of Milk and Honey tour (which runs through September with stops in Europe and Australia), it did manage to get Bush for The Big Fresno Fair.

The band plays Oct. 15 at the Paul Paul Theater on the second week of this year’s concert series.

The Big Fresno Fair announced the concert Tuesday, along with four others:

When it comes to the hip-hop and rap scene, the fair has tended toward the ’90s and 2000s. See, return visits from Ice Cube. Here, we get an up-and-comer. The Dallas-based rapper was named Best New Artist last year by the hip-hop magazine XXL and was part of its 2024 Freshman Class. But he’s also genre-bending, having done collaborations with Bailey Zimmerman, Post Malone, Luke Combs, Shaboozey and Ella Langley.

Matt Maher is a Christian music artist, songwriter and worship leader and official Steinway Artist, known for worship anthems like “Lord, I Need You,” “Because He Lives (Amen)” and “Alive & Breathing.”

  • Russel Dickerson, Oct. 16.

BigXthaplug notwithstanding, Dickerson is the fair’s country music draw for the year. The singer has had a string of pop-tinged country hits including “Yours,” “Blue Tacoma” and “God Gave Me A Girl.”

  • Los Tigres Del Norte, Oct. 18

Arguably, one of the most influential, if not most recognizable, groups in regional Mexican music. The band has a 40-year history that includes following Johnny Cash in performing at Folsom Prison. The band is no stranger to the Fresno area. They performed at the Selland Arena on their Loteria tour last year.

These five acts join already announced fair performances from Gabriel Iglesias (Oct. 10), Tower of Power and War (Oct. 12), Iration (Oct. 14) and Diplo (Oct. 17). Tickets prices vary by performance, but are on sale May 18, with Big Fair Fan Club pre-sales starting May. 6.

Other concert announcements in Fresno

The fair’s announcement comes as other Fresno-area venues continue to book out their entertainment calendars. A quick list of other recent announcements includes:

  • Charley Crocket. Table Mountain Casino landed a May 22 date on Crocket’s Age of the Ram tour. Tickets are $47 and on sale. The outlaw country traditionalist also plays July 18 at Vina Robles Amphitheater.
  • Sugar Hill Gang, Furious 5 and DJ Skribble. The hip-hop originators play the Rainbow Ballroom on June 13. Tickets are $28.52 and on sale now.
  • ZZ Top. The quintessential sharp-dressed blues rock band comes to Fresno for the radio-sponsored Fox Fest. The show, with opener McKinley James, is Aug. 7 at the William Saroyan Theatre. Tickets start at $74 and are on sale.
  • Michael Blaustein. The Tower Theatre announced a Sept. 10 date with the comedian/podcaster. He plays Sept. 10 on the final leg of The Taste Me tour. Tickets (the few that are left) are $29.50-$89.50 and on sale.
  • Tig Notaro. The comedian and Star Trek actress, known for a deadpan delivery, announced a show Nov. 14 at Warnors Theatre as part of her Out of Nowhere tour Tickets start at $35 and are on sale.
