Paige Herschell, who plays Jacinda, reveals her intentions toward Rory Gibson’s Michael on General Hospital. Herschell reveals that it’s true that Jacinda is attracted to Michael’s money, but she also senses a chemistry between them.
In a conversation with Soap Opera Digest, she revealed, “A character can be both, right? She can be money-motivated and also, there could be some chemistry there — and I think there is.” Appreciating Gibson’s portrayal of Michael, she added, “I mean, with Rory, he probably has chemistry with a lamp! Anybody could have chemistry with Rory because he’s so great.”
While Jacinda does have a manipulative side, Herschell believes that being with Michael has also brought out her softer side. She also hinted at exploring new sides of Jacinda’s character and expressed enthusiasm about where these changes could take the narrative. Revealing how she added a personal touch to her character, she noted, “I’ve let a little bit more of Paige come out in Jacinda, and hopefully, I’m a sweet person! But I’m trying to give her a bit more humanity.”
Herschell acknowledges that Jacinda tends to trick people and get what she needs, with her true motives still unknown. “And who knows why she is doing it? Maybe for some enjoyment and excitement, because sometimes people do that — they follow the fun drama they’ve created for themselves. Maybe we’ll find out why she likes to be involved in stuff like that, I’m not sure, but she definitely has a sense of humor about it.”
Furthermore, she also revealed why Jacinda is taking a step ahead to save Michael from the police. “And when it comes to things that might give less adventurous characters pause, like lying to the police for Michael, ‘I think she’s very much like, ‘We’re just gonna go with the flow,’” she explained.
