It’s safe to say George Clooney has had his fun in Hollywood, on and off screen.
On Wednesday, December 3, the Batman & Robin star, 64, appeared on the Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. While chatting with the two NFL stars, he discussed everything from parenting to his new film with Adam Sandler. However, the most noteworthy revelation he made doesn’t have to do with either. In fact, it focused on a project he had been working on with a certain talk show host.
The actor has shared just why he has been regarded as one of Hollywood’s biggest pranksters. He revealed his most memorable prank and it is one that has fooled numerous stars.
George finally confirmed a long-standing rumor that he once wrote fake letters to A-list actors, posing them as if they were from former President Bill Clinton.
“Jimmy Kimmel gave me a stack of stationery with a presidential seal and Bill Clinton’s name on it,” he recalled. “And I would send notes to all these actors from Bill Clinton, I’d sign it — and I’d find a movie that wasn’t a great film and ‘I’d write, ‘I loved you in this film.'”
“I’d write these notes, and I’d send them. I sent [them] to, like, 30 different actors. I guarantee you some of them are framed in some of their homes. Guaranteed,” he added.
After Jason and Travis broke into laughter, George admitted this isn’t the only prank he was pulled like this.
Kimmel had previously given him another piece of fake stationery, this one designed to appear as if it were signed by his Ocean’s Eleven co-star, Brad Pitt. For this prank, he chose Meryl Streep as his victim.
He had sent The Devil Wears Prada actress a big book of accents on CDs and penned, “Dear Meryl, from Brad — this guy helped me in my accent in the movie Troy, and I thought maybe you could use it.”

Fortunately for Meryl, this prank hasn’t lasted as long as the first. Four years after, he saw her and told her this story. She responded, “Oh my God, I was wondering why the f— he’s sending me [this book].”
Brad and George are known to have an on-going prank war.
“It’s so awful. We’ve done a lot of terrible things to each other,” he confessed. “He’s done terrible things to me, man, so it all comes out.”
While George was previously filming a movie in Italy, Brad had convinced crew members and local newspapers that the filmmaker only likes to be called Danny Ocean, his character’s name from Ocean’s Eleven, and did not like to be looked directly in the eyes.
