Gibson released a statement on Thursday to say that it has “been shaping the sound of music since 1894, when founder Orville Gibson designed and built his earliest-known instrument in his workshop. Gibson instruments have inspired generation-defining musicians, catalyzed powerful moments in pop culture, and encouraged new players to pick up the guitar—often in legendary appearances on the silver screen.’

“From 20th Century Studios, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past,” the statement reads. “Starring Jeremy Allen White as the Boss, the film is written for the screen and directed by Scott Cooper, based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes. Recorded in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom on a 4-track recorder and a late-1950s Gibson SJ-200, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe. Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere is now playing in theaters.”

“Gibson’s acoustic luthiers collaborated closely with the production team, including award-winning producer Dave Cobb, who was tasked with recreating Bruce Springsteen’s music for the screen. For the original score, Cooper turned to Jeremiah Fraites, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from The Lumineers, whose New Jersey roots and deep connection to Springsteen’s work helped shape the film’s emotional core. A range of Gibson and Epiphone acoustics—many handcrafted at the Gibson acoustic craftory in Bozeman, Montana—were used throughout filming and recording to match the instruments, tones, and signal chains of the era.”

“Today, Gibson unveiled the Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere Collection, a specially curated selection of Gibson and Epiphone acoustic instruments featured in and inspired by the motion picture, available now on Gibson.com.”

“In celebration of the release, select guitars created for and used in the film are now on display at the Gibson Garage Nashville, the brand’s flagship store in the heart of downtown Nashville.”

From 20th Century Studios, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” is now playing only in theaters. View/share the trailers HERE and HERE.
