Memphis-born rap superstar GloRilla made an unexpected appearance at Tom Lee Park this weekend, performing as part of the annual All White Affair.
On July 18, GloRilla performed at the All White Affair festival, thrown by noted Memphis event promoter and impresario Curits Givens. GloRilla’s appearance was something of a last-minute surprise after her friend and fellow rapper Sexy Redd, who was originally scheduled to perform, reportedly canceled just 48 hours before the event.

In a video posted to Instagram by Givens early on July 18, he noted that Redd has “pulled out on me” despite having a signed contract for her appearance. Pivoting to Redd’s replacement, Givens noted that he “acted fast. I made one phone call and they said to send a jet. I got a private jet coming to Memphis as we speak with an artist on it. And when they pop out at this white party it’s gonna make the river rumble.”
The replacement turned out to be none other than CMG label rap queen GloRilla. Looking resplendent in all-white she performed at the party for a large and enthusiastic audience, bringing her talents to one of the city’s signature summer events.
For the past two decades, Givens’ name has been synonymous with fun, celebrity-studded galas and lavish celebrations of Black excellence in the Bluff City. Meanwhile, in more recent years, Frayser native GloRilla has risen to the top of the music world, with a series of hit singles, multiple Grammy nominations and partnerships with major corporations.
Last month, GloRilla released a new single, “MANE,” with fellow Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty and has also recently collaborated with Ludacris and Keyshia Cole.
This summer she also teamed with Reece’s Puffs to do remix of the jingle “Eat ‘Em Up,” part of a new ad campaign for the cereal. This included a limited-edition of Reece’s Puffs with GloRilla on the front of the box. (“I’m on a cereal box!” GloRilla posted on Instagram, along with some behind-the-scenes photos from the “Eat ‘Em Up” set.)
The hip-hop star has also confirmed that the much-anticipated follow-up to her 2024 debut, “Glorious,” is nearing completion.
“I’ve been working on it since my last album dropped. So, it’s been a minute,” GloRilla told People magazine in early July. “I’ve been trying to give it my all. I’ve been trying not to overthink it and make it as good as ‘Glorious’ was. I’m almost at the finish line with it. We’re just doing some extra touch-ups.”
