Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay issued a warning while revealing that he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer. In an Instagram post shared on Saturday, August 30, the Kitchen Nightmares star showed off a bandage under his ear, covering a small wound closed up with stitches, which can be seen in a second photo.
“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you !” wrote the Michelin-starred chef, 58, who is famous for his harsh critiques of other people’s cooking. The British restaurateur, who splits his time between London and Los Angeles, went on to caution his fans, “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend,” and even ended the post with a lighthearted joke, writing, “I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund…….”

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer, and is typically treated with surgical removal. According to the Mayo Clinic, it is more likely to develop on areas of the body that are often exposed to the sun.
Well-wishers flocked to the comments of Ramsay’s post to show their support for the MasterChef USA host, including his 25-year-old daughter Holly Anna Ramsay, a model and content creator, who wrote, “Love you dad.” Holly is one of six children Ramsay shares with his wife of 29 years, Tana, including her twin brother Jack, younger brothers Oscar, 6, and Jesse, 21 months, and sisters Megan, 27, and Matilda, 23. Better known by her nickname “Tilly,” Ramsay’s fourth child is well on her way to following in her famous dad’s footsteps. She boasts over one million Instagram followers and is set to host a new cooking show called Dish It Out premiering on Prime Video September 5.
