Chicago-based solo project Gorgonaut has released the new single “Chasing Ghosts,” the latest preview of the upcoming Ayame EP, due October 16, 2026.
Led by multi-instrumentalist Ryan Bruchert (Black Sites, HeWhoCorrupts, Trials, Centaurus), Gorgonaut explores themes of obsession, loss of control, and personal transformation through a mix of heavy guitar-driven songwriting, electronic textures, and atmospheric soundscapes.
“Chasing Ghosts” takes a more melancholic approach compared to the rest of Ayame, built around electronic pads and a darker, more introspective atmosphere. The track follows a growing obsession with an imagined entity that gradually becomes self-destructive.
Bruchert produced, mixed, and mastered Ayame at Biffco Studios, with artwork created by Darius Puia. The six-track EP will feature the previously released songs alongside the new single.
