A couple of celebrities have been spotted around Calgary while filming a brand-new Netflix movie based on Katherine Center’s book The Bodyguard.
The film stars Gilmore Girls and Supernatural actor Jared Padalecki, alongside Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester, who was spotted filming on Stephen Avenue.
One Calgarian spotted Meester on the street surrounded by yellow taxis and a camera crew while filming and posted it to TikTok with the caption, “Pretty cool watching some filming going on outside our store today down on Stephen Avenue in Calgary. Even cooler when we found out Leighton Meester is the star!”

Padalecki was also spotted in Calgary and posted a photo with the caption “Happened across this today, strolling around Calgary, couldn’t have come at a better time. Hope y’all are all well out there. This life can get crazy,” referring to a sign in a window.
Meester’s husband, Adam Brody (The O.C.), was spotted at a Flying Squirrel trampoline park in Calgary.
According to Netflix, the movie is a “holiday romantic comedy about a no-nonsense bodyguard who is assigned to protect a charming action star over the holidays. Of course, sparks fly, secrets unravel, and Christmas gets a lot more complicated!”
No release date has been announced.
