Picturing America’s Pastime
What: What better way to keep celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary than through the history of America’s national pastime? A new exhibit at the Upcountry History Museum captures the tradition of baseball in sepia, black-and-white and color photographs of everything from Shoeless Joe Jackson to players posing at the Great Sphinx of Giza.
When: Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.

Literary Bingo
What: Looking for a way to escape the summer heat? Enjoy a relaxed evening (or, if you’re competitive, a not-so-relaxed evening) with literary bingo at M. Judson Booksellers. This free event includes prizes and is perfect for any bibliophile.

Music by the Lake
What: Every Thursday evening during the summer, you can head out to Furman University and enjoy a free concert at the amphitheater overlooking the lake. With music from the Matt Olson Jazz Quartet on the docket, this is a perfect week to check it out. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, as well as a picnic dinner.

Upstate Shakespeare Festival
What: The Upstate’s favorite summer theater festival is back for its second show of the year. Starting July 9, audiences can head to Falls Park to see Shakespeare’s “The Two Noble Kinsmen,” a tragicomedy based on “The Canterbury Tales.” Bring a picnic dinner to best enjoy the show.
When: Thursday through Sunday at 7 p.m. until July 25.

Blossoms of Current
What: From now through the end of the month, you can check out the work of Anderson artist Matthew C. Martin at Art & Light Gallery. Martin uses electrical anodizing on titanium to create colorful oxide layers through controlled electrical currents. To find out what that means, you may attend the gallery opening July 10 from 6-8 p.m. or a pop-up July 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
