Brad Everett Young, an actor who appeared in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and later became a celebrity photographer, died Monday from injuries sustained in a car crash in Los Angeles. He was 46.
According to USA Today, the accident took place Sunday, Sept. 14 on the 134 Freeway when Young’s vehicle was hit by a car driving the wrong direction, said Young’s publicist Paul Christensen.
A Virginia native, Young’s Hollywood career started in the 1990s. He starred in roles in TV such as “Boy Meets World,” “Charmed,” “Numb3rs” and “Felicity.” He appeared in films such as “Charlie’s Angels” and “Jurassic Park II.”
More recently, Young took up celebrity photography with features in Vanity Fair, People, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar magazines to name a few. His photography portfolio included celebrities such as David Harbour and Harvey Guillén, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Beyond his work in entertainment, Young founded Dream Loud Official, a grassroots project dedicated to restore and preserve school art programs nationwide. He wanted to inspire students, teachers, and artists through the initiative, says his publicist.
“Brad’s passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” Christensen said in a statement. “He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Young is survived by his brother. Funeral arrangements will be announced, and his family has requested prayers and privacy during this time.
