The one-night event will tape on Sunday at the historic Detroit Opera House. The episode will air on Monday night on WOOD TV8 and stream on Peacock the following day.
“We have lots of fun stuff planned, lots of surprises. I can’t wait to see you, Detroit. So, get ready, it’s going to be good,” Fallon said during Thursday’s show.
The taping is part of the show’s partnership with Ford and a new marketing campaign called “Ready, Set, Ford.”
According to the Detroit Free Press, it’s the first time the city has hosted a national late-night show since Jimmy Kimmel made an appearance in 2006.
In addition to his regular duties, Fallon will start hosting new episodes of “The Tonight Show” on Sunday nights following “Sunday Night Football” starting on Sept. 21.
