Halle Berry & Ex Gabriel Aubry’s Reunion Resurfaces Violent Past

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry just reunited! But not in the way you think!

In photos obtained by The Daily Mail, the former lovers were photographed reuniting for their daughter Nahla’s high school graduation earlier this week. Now, many instantly noted their awkward body language to one another, and it turns out that not many remember how messy their breakup was back in the day.

Nearly a year after her divorce from Eric Benét was finalized, the Oscar-winning actress started dating French-Canadian model Aubry after meeting on the set of a Versace photoshoot.

After three years together, Berry welcomed the couple’s only child, daughter Nahla (born March 2008). Just two years later, the couple announced their split.

After their breakup, there was a highly publicized custody battle over Nahla. Berry wanted to move to France with Nahla alongside her partner, French actor Olivier Martinez, while Aubry argued that the move would make their joint custody agreement incredibly difficult. A judge ruled in Aubry’s favor, denying Berry’s request to move Nahla to France.

Soon after, an altercation occurred.

Aubry and Martinez were both treated at a hospital for injuries after engaging in a physical altercation at Berry’s residence. Martinez was granted a temporary emergency protective order preventing Aubry from coming within 100 yards of Berry, Martinez, and Nahla. However, Aubry also obtained a temporary restraining order against Martinez, claiming he had threatened to kill him if he didn’t let the family move to France, per the Los Angeles Times. (Berry was not part of the physical altercation!)

It was resolved within weeks, and Berry had to pay child support for Aubry.
