The prospect of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning to Royal duties has been labeled “extremely unlikely,” with a Royal expert outlining the key requirements the couple would need to meet for any potential comeback.
The duo, who declared their intention to step back from Royal responsibilities in January 2020, have been residing in America with their two children for five years.
Harry and Meghan cited their wish for an independent lifestyle as a primary factor behind their choice.
Grant Harrold, King Charles’s former butler, has discussed the likelihood of their Royal comeback—and what would be necessary to initiate such a process.
Speaking on behalf of Action Network, Mr Harrold stated: “It’s extremely unlikely, but you never know. I don’t think it’s what the Royal Family would want, and I don’t think Meghan and Harry would give up their new lives in the US.
“It wouldn’t just be down to the King and Prince William – it would be the ‘men in suits’ as well. It’s the household. It’s them who run the diaries, the events, the day-to-day workings.
“There would be so much to discuss. They’ll be wondering if it’s safe to let them back in in terms of reputation. There would be a whole, long process.”
