Prince Harry has consistently expressed that without proper security, he cannot bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK.
The recent legal development could potentially enable Harry to bring his children to the UK to reunite with family members, including their grandfather, King Charles.
In a surprising reversal, a comprehensive review of his security by the official body responsible for assessing the protection of royals and VIPs is currently in progress, with a decision expected in January.
This follows Prince Harry‘s private letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, requesting a full security risk assessment, as reported by The Guardian.
The publication states that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) will instruct its risk management board to reevaluate its threat level for the first time since 2020.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: “What Harry wants is to have taxpayers pay, via the police, for his security whenever he wants it whilst in England, On Friday, the Home Office told him that they have granted him a risk management assessment.
“This is a result of all the lobbying Harry has done, which included, but was not limited to, writing to the Home Secretary.
“His security is now closer to reality. Although there is no definitive outcome yet, the trajectory of his case is in his favor. The door, now literally and figuratively, might well be open for him to return to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children.”

Earlier this year, Prince Harry was in the UK for a two-day hearing to appeal the government’s decision to withdraw his security.
In May, the British Royal lost his appeal. The Court of Appeal unanimously ruled that a committee had not treated the Duke of Sussex unfairly when it decided to review his protection on a case-by-case basis each time he visits his home country.
Now, after nearly six long years, and since Harry left the UK, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) has finally instructed its Risk Management Board to reassess the threat against Harry.
The process is reportedly underway, with evidence being collected from the police, the government, and the prince’s own team.
Currently, the Duke is required to give the Met Police 30 days’ notice before travelling to Britain so they can evaluate his security needs on a case-by-case basis.
Some argue that this ad hoc approach actually costs more than simply assigning him a few salaried armed officers for his infrequent visits.
