Pottermore Publishing has officially welcomed more acclaimed actors to the Harry Potter audiobook cast for the upcoming adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved children’s novel series.
The first installment, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2025, exclusively on Audible. Afterward, each of the remaining six English-language audiobooks will launch monthly: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on December 16, 2025; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on January 13, 2026; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on February 10, 2026; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on March 10, 2026; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on April 14, 2026; and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on May 12, 2026.
Who is joining the Harry Potter audiobook cast?
Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Iwan Rheon have been tapped for the respective roles of Professor Lockhart and Professor Lupin. The Harry Potter audiobook series has also enlisted Atonement stars Keira Knightley as Professor Umbridge and James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody, as well as One Day stars Ambika Mod as Nympadora Tonks and Leo Woodall as Bill Weasley. Additional casting includes Simon Pegg (Star Trek) as Arthur Weasley, Ruth Wilson (The Affair) as Bellatrix Lestrange, Gemma Whelan (The Tower) as Professor Sprout, and Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows) as Sir Cadogan.
They will be joining previously announced cast members Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall, and Cush Jumbo OBE as the narrator. For the first three installments, Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton have been tapped to play Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively. As for the remaining installments, Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis will take over the respective roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
The seven-book Harry Potter series was first adapted into eight films that earned over $7 billion at the worldwide box office. Besides the audiobook series, Harry Potter is also getting a 10-season series adaptation from HBO, which has just started production. The TV show is set to debut sometime in 2027, with newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton set to lead the new live-action cast.
