Paramore’s Hayley Williams has started a new project: Power Snatch.
The Nashville singer was up for four awards at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Feb. 1, and after four losses, she surprise-dropped a new three-song EP on Bandcamp, “EP 1.”
The new band is comprised of Williams and her “Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party” producer and multi-instrumentalist, Daniel James.
Last week, Williams and James hosted a show on Apple Music, teasing a new single called “Assignment.”
The duo uploaded their first song, “DMs,” to Bandcamp inconspicuously in December.
The new EP includes three tracks, “DMs,” “Duh” and “Hole in the Ceiling.”
The first is a distorted, dissonant alt-rock track about moving on from a past romance.
“Is it wrong for me to hold you hostage in my mind?” Williams sings. “DM me your goodbyes, don’t got your number.”
“Duh” shouts out Williams’ hometown, Franklin, Tennessee.
“I think about Fair Street like a dad daydreams about football days / I think about forks in roads and knives at gun fights.”
And the EP’s last track shuns an old flame. “I could not be less interested,” Williams lulls. “Go and fall in love again.”
The band has one song on Spotify, “Assignment,” a spoken word track with punk rock backing.

Hayley Williams no stranger to surprise releases
In July, Williams shocked fans by leaking 17 new solo tracks to her website.
Days earlier, she had debuted her new tune “Mirtazapine” on Nashville Public Radio WNXP.
Williams officially compiled the leaked tunes into an album in August, releasing her Nashville-inspired record “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.”
The title track is a Nashville-centered tune that made headlines for its lyrics.
“I’ll be the biggest star / At this racist country singer’s bar,” Williams sings. “No use shooting for the moon / No use chasing waterfalls.”
In October and November, Williams released bonus songs, adding three tunes to the album for a final 20-song project.
The album’s material was up for four Grammys, including best alternative music album, best rock performance, best alternative music performance and best rock song.
She lost the awards to The Cure, Yungblood and Nine Inch Nails.
Is Paramore splitting up?
In September, Williams confirmed that her band Paramore is taking a break, but they are not splitting up.
After releasing “Ego Death,” Williams told a reporter the band is not calling it quits.
“Do we ever know where we’re at?!” she told “The Face.”
“We always take huge breaks. In order for us to metabolize shit that we go through as people, it takes the amount of time it takes between albums.”
Paramore, comprised of Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York, released their last album in 2023, “This Is Why.”
