It’s time to relive your childhood tale of friendship, empathy, and courage. HBO Max is bringing back E.B. White’s 1952 timeless novel, Charlotte’s Web,to lifethrough a three-part animated special set to premiere on October 2.
The limited series features an acclaimed ensemble cast: Amy Adams as Charlotte, Elijah Wood as Adult Wilbur, Griffin Robert Faulkner as Young Wilbur, Jean Smart as Narrator, Cynthia Erivo as Goose, Natalie Chan as Fern, Danny Trejo as Gander, Randall Park as Templeton, and more.

The clips recount important moments of the classic story where Charlotte and Wilbur try to come up with words for her to weave into a web to save Wilbur from getting slaughtered. Caught in a dilemma, Wilbur ends up asking, “I’m just a runty pig. I don’t even know why you helped me in the first place. All I ever did was be your friend.” Charlotte then narrates the heartwarming story of friendship and kindness to gentle pig Wilbur.
The three-part special is being produced by Sesame Workshop, with Luke Matheny (Ghostwriter) serving as the showrunner.
“To be asked to adapt E.B. White’s masterpiece was both thrilling and daunting…And yes, many of us cried along the way — but if you’re not crying while making Charlotte’s Web, you’re probably not doing it right,” revealed Luke to PEOPLE.
