After Warner Bros. Discovery officially decided to revert its streaming service’s name from Max to its original name, HBO Max, it looks like the company isn’t done making changes to its HBO division. It has been confirmed that HBO’s U.S. linear channels will be receiving new updated names to “better reflect the respective content offerings.”
What are the new HBO channel names?
The six HBO channels that will be rebranded are HBO2, HBO Signature, HBO Zone, MoreMAX, ActionMax, and 5starMAX. As of today, the updated monikers will be reflected in available HBO Max live in-app Channels, which launched last year on select plans. This feature enables subscribers to stream live HBO programming via simulcasts.
Listed below are the new names for each channel:
HBO2 is now called HBO Hits.
HBO Signature is now called HBO Drama.
HBO Zone is now called HBO Movies.

ActionMAX is now called Cinemax Action.
5starMAX is now called Cinemax Classics.

Returning the HBO brand into HBO Max will further drive the service forward and amplify the uniqueness that subscribers can expect from the offering.
