Scary Movie’s Marlon Wayans has teased some of the movies that the new film will spoof, including one of 2025’s best entries.
It was confirmed last year that the franchise would return for Scary Movie 6 – the first entry in 12 years – and that means a whole host of new horror hits are ripe for parodying.
Wayans has now revealed some that they have in mind, and it looks one of this year’s greatest films, Sinners, as well as Longlegs, Get Out, Nope and Heretic are in their sights.
“I mean, you know, I’m just a fan of the whole genre, man,” he told ComicBook. “I Know What You Did Last Summer may have something in there.
“I think the Scream franchise is always a great one. I think Heretic was a wonderful film. Longlegs. Get Out. Nope. There are just so many great horror films to pull from that we plan on having a field day. Sinners.”

Alongside Wayans both in front and behind the camera as a co-writer, Scary Movie 6 will see the long-awaited returns of franchise icons Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell and Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again,” Marlon and brothers Shawn and Keenen said last year. “This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago.

“We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again. We look forward to working with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring these laughs to theaters, where they belong. It’s a double reunion.”
Miramax’s Jonathan Glickman added: “The timing is perfect to bring back the series to the big screen, and we’re lucky to have Keenen, Marlon and Shawn’s unique comedic vision bringing it to audiences around the world.”
Scary Movie 6 is due for release in UK and US cinemas on 12 June, 2026.
