Telling ghost stories (especially if you’re gathered around a roaring bonfire) is one of the spookiest ways to channel the mystical magic of Halloween. While there are certainly a lot of terrifying tales that speak to the scariness of the season, the ultimate ghost story might just be the classic 1988 horror-comedy Beetlejuice and its 2024 sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. In both of these dark fantasy films, haunting spirits steal the spotlight—namely the “Ghost with the Most,” a boisterous, mischief-making “bio-exorcist” named Beetlejuice.

The original Beetlejuice film, filled with chaos and comedy, remains a classic Halloween movie decades later. Tim Burton’s quirky, imaginative tale with a creepy twist follows a recently deceased couple who summons a rambunctious spirit named Beetlejuice to help them scare away the family who has moved into their old home, which, in the afterlife, they’re stuck haunting.

Nearly 35 years later, the sequel to the fan-favorite funny and fantastical film premiered, which brought with it the return of sand worms, supernatural shenanigans, and, of course, the infamous shape-shifting specter. In the modern follow-up, which has all the ghoulish humor, haunted happenings, ‘80s nostalgia, and iconic characters (along with a few new faces) of the first film, the Deetz family accidentally sets “The Juice” loose while cleaning out the attic after the patriarch’s death. And everyone is forced to deal with the invoked trouble brewing in both realms.

If you’re hoping to watch either (or both!) of these horror-comedy movies to get in the Halloween spirit, luckily, you can do so from the comfort of your home. Though saying Beetlejuice’s name three times can summon the mischievous spirit, in today’s world, you don’t need otherworldly powers to bring him right to your TV screen. To enjoy all the dark humor and paranormal charm of these cult classics, we’re breaking down exactly how to watch Beetlejuice and its sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, without leaving your couch.

If you want to watch the sequel to the beloved classic, you know what the scheming specter says: It’s showtime!

To stream Beetlejuice Beetlejuice online, there are a few different avenues. The second movie in the installment is also a Warner Bros. production, so Max is the primary streaming service. Again, if Max is part of your Hulu plan, streaming the movie from Hulu is also an option. Unlike the original feature, though, you can watch the sequel on Netflix, which offers plans beginning at $7.99 per month.
