Bad Bunny is nominated in multiple categories at the 2025 VMAs, but he sadly won’t be making a stylish appearance on the red carpet this year—for a good reason.
The singer is currently in the middle of his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, and he has a show tonight, September 7.
That said, he could still take home several awards despite not being in attendance— including Best Latin for “Baile Inolvidable,” Best Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, Best Longform Video for Debí Tirar Más Fotos (Short Film), and Best Artist. He shares the latter category with Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. In other words, it’s stacked.
FYI, the New York Times just reported that Bad Bunny’s three-month, 30-show, residency has created a major economic surge at a time when tourism to Puerto Rico is typically low. The numbers? A “direct economic impact of $250 million and total spending of $400 million.”
“This is so far my best experience in music, maybe life, this happening right now in San Juan in that arena, is something magical,” Bad Bunny recently told Today of his residency. “It’s such a pleasure to show my culture, my country, my land, right there in my house, be with my family every night. Sleep at home every night.”
