HGTV’s Latest Announcement Has Fans “Extremely Confused”

HGTV just announced that their highest-rated series is returning for a seventh season. Rock the Block is slated for a 2026 return, and fans of the show should get ready for some serious changes. For the first time ever, the renovation competition is heading to Las Vegas, where teams will have $275,000 to renovate identical homes in a cul-de-sac.

Ty Pennington will return to host, but the format is seeing a serious shakeup. Season six mixed things up by pitting “veterans” against “rookies,” and now, HGTV stars will be paired up with celebrities to design the homes. Here’s a look at the teams:

• Taniya Nayak and Drew Lachey

HGTV shared the news on Instagram and it’s safe to say reactions were missed. The HGTV stars got lots of enthusiasm from fans, who are ready to cheer on Scott, Taniya, Mina, and Kim. But others were left scratching their heads:

• This is a very confusing line up… I’ll be watching but I’ll be extremely confused the whole time

• Love Rock the Block! Just not sure about this round. Will definitely watch to see if it’s going to be good. Maybe next time a designer and a fan? That would be more interesting for me! I’ll happily volunteer 🙋🏻♀️ to be on that Rock the Block

• Why celebrities??? Disappointed.

• Why not get 8 former HGTV stars instead of “celebrities”. There are plenty former HGTV people out there!!!! Bonus if they are HGTV stars from over 10 years ago! 💗
