Hilary Duff is the latest celebrity to play “Sally” at Role Model’s concert.
On her Instagram stories, Duff, 38, posted a video of her dancing on stage with Role Model when he was performing his hit song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas.
At one part in the performance, Duff gave Role Model a big hug before she was seen exiting the stage.

For the event, Duff wore a cropped black shirt and a mini skirt. On her Instagram stories, she also posted a photo of herself holding up an envelope that said “Sally” while she rode in a cart outside.

During her performance, also captured by fans, Role Model gave a special nod to Duff’s 2003 song, “What Dreams Are Made Of,” which was featured in the actor’s The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
“This is what dreams are made of, baby” the 28-year-old singer yelled into the microphone as he and Duff danced together.
Since the 2024 release of his song, Role Model has made it a tradition to bring celebrities on stage with him when he sings “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.”
Some other stars who have taken on the role of Sally are Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and TODAY’s Al Roker.
The song tells the story of a “wild” girl named Sally who steals Role Model’s heart. Throughout the song, he raves about her personality and secretly hopes she’s not seeing anyone else.
In the chorus, he says, “Sally / That feeling’s coming around / Please don’t go falling in love / Then disappear when the wine runs out.”
Duff’s appearance on stage comes nearly two months after she teased her return to music. In September, she posted some photos of herself in a recording studio and captioned it, “new music … or something 🪩✨🍒.”
That same month, Atlantic Records released a press release that said she signed a deal with them and will also be coming out with an “intimate docuseries” that will chronicle her return to music. Duff hasn’t released an album since 2015’s “Breathe In. Breathe Out.”
The docuseries will embrace “the ups, downs, and everything in between” and show Duff “as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade,” the press release read.
