Bethany Joy Lenz currently stars on the When Calls the Heart spinoff series, Hope Valley: 1874, on Hallmark+.
Joy teased her plans to potentially record new music in a new Instagram post, and fans had a lot to say about it.
The last time Joy recorded music was for the 2025 album Well Well Well, which she recorded with former One Tree Hill co-star Tyler Hilton.
Is Bethany Joy Lenz looking to focus more on another one of her many talents?
As of late, fans of the Hallmark actress know her for being the leading lady on the When Calls the Heart spinoff series, Hope Valley: 1874. What’s more, Joy is also busy with other projects, including the upcoming release of her second book, The Betrayal of Cora Wexford.
But longtime followers of Joy also know she has pursued music throughout her career, as they saw when she appeared on One Tree Hill back in the early 2000s. And it seems like she may want to put her singing talent back in the spotlight, as she shared on Instagram the idea of her recording new tunes.
“New song 🏝️ 🎶YES 🎶 🏝️,” she wrote in the caption on April 7. “Imagine piano & bass w/ jazz drums. Gimme Sade meets Macy Gray. Shall I record it? A friend needed a track for a film so I got up to it. Have a few ideas up my sleeve for new music to track soon xoxo.”
Naturally, fans rallied behind Joy as soon as she posed the thought of potentially putting out new songs to listen to.
“Should you record it?! Is that even a question 🤣. Get straight to the studio after your vacation,” one person begged in the comments. ““You don’t need to ask! It’s a YES!!! 🎶🎵🎶🎵,” another agreed. “Yes, record a song a day. Please. Any song. Song library. Covers. Originals. Anything,” a different follower added.
Joy has had a multitude of hits over the years, with her most popular being a cover of Ryan Adams’ “When the Stars Go Blue.” But the last single that was her own was the song “Flesh and Bone (feat. Noah Needleman),” which she released in November 2024. Additionally, Joy also collaborated with her former co-star, Tyler Hilton, on the album Well Well Well in November 2025.
If this is what Joy has in the works, we need a studio version of new songs ASAP!
