Grace Caroline Currey is stepping into chilling new territory with The Freeze, a supernatural horror film that puts a terrifying twist on a household essential. Known for her breakout roles in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and the survival thriller Fall, Currey now leads a story where a vintage refrigerator becomes the center of an escalating nightmare.

IndustryWorks Studios has officially launched AFM sales for The Freeze, which headlines Currey alongside Milo Gibson, James C. Clayton, and Natasha Henstridge. The film, currently in post-production, is a new genre turn for Currey as she anchors a tense, family-centered horror.
The movie follows Morgan, played by Currey, whose world collapses when her young son disappears. The official synopsis sets the tone: “When her young son vanishes, Morgan clings to hope as her fractured family unravels. But after bringing home a vintage 1940s refrigerator, she discovers something hidden within that’s slowly freezing them inside their own home, and may hold the chilling truth behind her son’s disappearance” (via Deadline).
Writer-director Trevor Mirosh helms the feature, building on a concept he first explored in his 2017 short film, also titled The Freeze. That project centered on two roommates who realize their old 1950s refrigerator hides a sinister secret. Stephanie Lavigne from the short reprises a role in the feature, although costar Abby Ross does not appear to be part of the new cast, as per IMDb listing.
Mirosh previously made his feature debut with the 2010 crime comedy Salvador’s Deli. With The Freeze, he returns to long-form storytelling by expanding a contained, high-concept idea into a full-length horror narrative.
Executive producers include Evan Tylor and Caterina Scrivano of IndustryWorks Studios, as well as Keli Price of Price Productions. Price also handled talent negotiations for the film. Mainstay Entertainment, Innovative, and Hanson Jacobsen represent Currey.
