Days after photos surfaced of Emma Watson kissing Mexican entrepreneur Gonzalo Hevia Baillères at an airport, a source spoke to People about their new romance.
The insider said Watson is “really into” Baillères and is feeling like she is “on cloud nine.”
They added that Baillères “seems like a good guy.”
Baillères is the grandson of the late Mexican billionaire Alberto Baillères, who founded the conglomerate Grupo BAL and ran the silver mining company Industrias Penoles. Forbes listed the Baillères family as the 10th richest in Latin America in 2025, with extended family members still working in insurance, mining, and cattle.
Watson has historically kept most of her romances private. She told Vanity Fair in 2017, “I’ve noticed, in Hollywood, who you’re dating gets tied up into your film promotion and becomes part of the performance and the circus. I would hate anyone that I were with to feel like they were in any way part of a show or an act.”
In September 2025, during an episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Watson described the pressure to marry as “such a violence” and “such a cruelty.”
“Truly, if I had tried to get married at any point, basically, before about a year ago, it would have been carnage. I just didn’t know myself well enough yet,” she added. “I didn’t have a clear enough idea of my purpose, my vision, like, how I was going to be of service. I didn’t know where I really felt like I needed to be. I think I have some of those answers now.”
At the time, Watson seemed to still be searching for a partner.
“I think what’s nice is, at the very least, dating for everyone is basically a complete disaster and free-for-all,” she joked. “So like I feel like I’m in good company in that sense.”
