I forgot to mention that I also approach companies I want to work with! In most cases I send an email/DM and asking them if they are interested in collaborating.
Having a proactive mindset has been a game changer for me.
And don’t get me wrong, I get rejected, a LOT, but that’s part of the game. A rejection now might still turn into a collaboration in the future! Sign up for anything and everything that you would want (and would be able) to do and see what happens. Worse case scenario is that stay the same and you can try again.
