North West has grown up in the spotlight, and time has certainly flown by! On June 15, the Kardashians star turned 13, officially becoming a teenager.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s oldest daughter has already achieved so much ahead of her teen years, most recently performing solo for the first time at a music festival.
On June 11, North sang at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash 2026 festival in Bridgeview, Illinois. The young singer was supported during the big moment by both her proud mom, Kim. The Skims founder shared a picture on Instagram Stories with a photo of backstage passes with North’s face, alongside the words ‘Stage 3… North West.’

While Kim and Kanye are no longer together, the former couple – who divorced in 2022 – are united in their support for their daughter. This has included attending events, posting on social media and even allowing North to be homeschooled.
Kanye has been a huge influencer on North’s singing ambitions and has let his daughter join him on stage on a number of occasions.

North’s big year
North has had an incredibly exciting past 12 months, which has included her releasing her debut EP, N0rth4Evr, on May 1. At the time of the release, North’s doting family showed their support on social media – including her notoriously private uncle, Rob Kardashian.
In April, North joined Kanye on stage at his comeback concert in LA. The pair performed “Talking” and “Piercing on My Hand” at the SoFi Stadium on April 1. The pair also performed in January during the rapper’s surprise concert in Mexico City.

Along with singing with her dad, North gave a surprise performance in May at the Rolling Loud music festival in Orlando, Florida, alongside rapper Molly Santana.
Leaving school to be homeschooled
Kim spoke out about her decision to let North be homeschooled during an appearance on sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, Khloe in Wonderland, in January.
She said: “[North] is homeschooled and a lot of it is me helping her do a lot of the teachings and the things that we do. But we do a lot of realistic courses, things that she’s really into.”

She added: “And so I nurture her. But it’s a full time job even for me and her teacher. And I think people don’t realize I’m with her and the kids 24/7 and it’s like I’ve now added a teacher to my role because she wants me involved in all the things. And you know, I took the last six months off to be able to really do that and do her courses and get the curriculum from her teachers and be there in the room with her.” The proud mom went on to say that North has blossomed and is passionate about a lot of subjects, including music.

Kanye’s influence
Kanye has been a huge supporter and influence when it comes to North’s music career. In January 2025, he gave a rare insight into their bond and how they were collaborating on music. Posting on Instagram, he wrote: “This little girl made me love music again. She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY.”
