Swifties, rejoice!
It’s time for a new Taylor Swift album, just 1½ years after the pop superstar released her last one, “The Tortured Poet’s Department.”
T-Swift’s newest offering, “The Life of a Showgirl,” drops Friday, Oct. 3. And screening parties for the accompanying film are planned at movie theaters across Southwest Florida.
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan,” Swift wrote last week on Instagram. “Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Bonita Springs theaters will show the 90-minute film celebrating the album release for one weekend only, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 3-5. The film is called “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.”
“Celebrate The Official Release Party of a Showgirl in theaters only…” says a message on the websites for Bonita’s Prado Stadium 12 and North Fort Myers’ AMC Merchants Crossing 16. “See the exclusive world premiere of the music video, ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot, brand new lyric videos, and Taylor’s never-before-seen personal reflections on songs from her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl.'”
Plenty of tickets remain as of Sept. 24, but they’re expected to go fast.

Regal Cinemas in Fort Myers, San Carlos Park
The Regal Cinemas chain offers a whopping 115 chances to see the movie at its two Lee County theaters Friday through Sunday, Oct. 3-5. There are 15-26 screenings daily at Regal Belltower in Fort Myers, and another 10-19 daily at Regal Gulf Coast in San Carlos Park.
Tickets cost $14.91, including taxes and fees. Get them online at regmovies.com, or buy them in person at the theaters: Regal Belltower at Bell Tower, 13499 Belltower Drive, in south Fort Myers; or Regal Gulf Coast in Gulf Coast Town Center, 10028 Gulf Center Drive, in San Carlos Park.

Cape Coral’s Marquee Cinemas offers 27 total screenings: Seven on Friday, and 10 each on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-5.

Bonita Springs’ Prado Stadium 12
The Bonita Springs movie theater offers 37 total screenings: Nine on Friday, and 14 each on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-5.
Tickets cost $14.78, including taxes and fees. Get them online at pradostadium12.com or in person at Prado Stadium 12, 25251 Chamber of Commerce Drive, Bonita Springs.
AMC Merchants Crossing 16 in North Fort Myers
The North Fort Myers theater offers 48 total screenings: Twelve on Friday, and 18 each on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-5.
