Hugh Jackman is planning to boost beleaguered girlfriend Sutton Foster’s spirits with spa treatments, a source tells Globe.
“The public has been quite cruel to both of them,” says the source, but the backlash to their romance has been especially “tough” on the Broadway actress, who’s been dealing with negative comments about her appearance.
After the pair were spotted together for the first time in months on Thursday, September 18, fans didn’t hold back.
“She has aged 20 years in the past 12 months!!” one Daily Mail commenter wrote of the Younger alum, 50, while others snarked that she looked “really old” and “plain.”
“She’s only dealing with all this vitriol because she’s dating him and Hugh feels quite responsible,” adds the source.
The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 56, is “constantly telling her how beautiful she is,” says the source, but he’s also planning to treat her to a spa trip.

Jackman, who has had multiple procedures to remove basal cell carcinoma since 2013, posted a photo of himself wearing under-eye patches to reduce the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles on Instagram in 2024.
Jackman has been following a strict skincare routine “for years,” continues the source.
“No doubt he’ll encourage Sutton to follow his lead and take advantage of the great scientific advances in anti-aging,” the source says of the actor, who’s been struggling with a slump in ticket sales for his one-man show, Globe previously reported. “They both need all the extra pampering they can get!”
