Linda Hogan has some suspicions.
Last Sunday, CBS presented the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards from Los Angeles, California, with several figures honored for their efforts in America television. As per tradition, the broadcast also paid tribute to television industry professionals who had recently died through their “In Memoriam” segment.
Individuals recognized in the 2025 “In Memoriam” include Ozzy Osbourne, Chucky Woolery, Anne Burrell, and Loni Anderson. According to Linda Hogan, her former husband Hulk Hogan was likely excluded from the segment due to his political affiliations.
Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea), who died in July 2025, had leaned into conservative politics in recent years, as exemplified by his endorsing of the Donald Trump–J.D. Vance party at the 2024 Republican National Convention. In the eyes of Linda Hogan, his speech might have eradicated his chance of a posthumous honor at a big event, such as the Emmys.
“I can’t prove that,” Linda told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!!”
“WWF at the top of the hour when he came on to wrestle…[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years!” Linda continued. “I really can’t tell you why they left him out…just a guess considering the way he was treated at his last appearance in LA.”
Entertainment Weekly noted that they reached out the Television Academy about the matter, but did not immediately hear back from representatives.
