End-of-life conversations are never easy — but they’re necessary. That’s the mission behind End Well 2025, a one-day summit coming to Los Angeles on November 20, 2025, and streaming worldwide. This year’s theme is Radical Bravery — the courage to show up for one another, even when it’s painful, uncertain or heartbreaking.
Among the most anticipated voices at the event is Emma Heming Willis, who will sit down with actress and caregiving advocate Yvette Nicole Brown to talk candidly about life after her husband Bruce Willis’s 2023 diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
“When my husband Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, I had to find courage I didn’t know existed,” Heming Willis said in a statement. “Radical bravery isn’t about being fearless; it’s about speaking out, even when you know you’ll be criticized, so that others feel validated and supported. These conversations can’t wait. Every family deserves the tools and compassion to navigate dementia with dignity and love.”

The conversation will be part of a day that brings together storytellers, doctors, policymakers, caregivers, and artists at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles and online.
Hosted by author-activist Tembi Locke and Bravo showrunner J.J. Duncan, the program mixes main-stage talks, hands-on workshops, and community building. Topics include:
The caregiving revolution — how families and communities are reshaping support
Policy change and advancing knowledge about end-of-life care
Dementia and cognitive decline, with tools and resources for caregivers
Honoring human dignity in the most difficult moments
Attendees — both in person and online — will also hear from:
Nikki Boyer, Emmy-winning storyteller behind Dying for Sex
Dr. Kathryn Mannix, UK physician and bestselling author reshaping the language around dying
John Onwuchekwa, pastor and author exploring the intersection of grief and hope
Dr. Justin Nathaniel Baker, Stanford’s Chief of Pediatric Palliative Care
Joél Simone Maldonado, founder of the Multicultural Death & Grief Care Academy

Healthcare providers can earn continuing education credits, and a global livestream ensures anyone can join the conversation.
End Well was founded in 2017 by physician and journalist Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider with a simple but radical idea: ending well is part of living well. A 2019 study found that more than half of families reported their loved one experienced a “bad death” — something End Well aims to change through education, policy, and cultural dialogue.
“Radical bravery is about meeting the hardest moments of life with courage, compassion, and connection,” Ungerleider said. “That’s what End Well 2025 is all about.”
End Well 2025 takes place November 20 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles and virtually worldwide. More information, including tickets and livestream details, is available at EndWellProject.org.
Since his diagnosis, Willis’ current wife Emma and ex-wife Demi Moore have become a support system for each other and their daughters — Moore and Willis share three daughters, and Heming and Willis share two daughters.
On the September 2 episode of Oprah Winfrey’s podcast, Moore said of Heming, “There is no road map for how to deal with this…So much fell on Emma to really figure this whole thing out, and the most beautiful thing, and she talks about this in the book, was recognizing the importance for caregivers that they have to take care of themselves. And if they don’t put that time into making sure that they’re okay, that they then can’t show up for anyone else.”
Moore continued, “I have so much compassion for Emma in this, being a young woman. There’s no way that anybody could have anticipated where this was going to go. And I really think she’s done a masterful job. She has been so dedicated to forging the right path. She’s had equal amounts of fear and strength and courage in navigating this. I think that this book is gonna really be very helpful for a lot of people who are walking through this.”
