They then, like most newlywed couples, enjoyed a relaxing honeymoon together. While they could have gone anywhere in the world, they chose to go to Birkhall – their Scottish home.
Little information was shared about the honeymoon, but one royal chef who was there with the couple has revealed exactly what those few weeks were like.
Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo Online, former royal chef Visen Anenden said: “I actually went to Birkhall with them for their honeymoon for two weeks. It was lovely.
“I was quite new at the time, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from a royal household. I was thrown by how relaxed it felt.
“It was just close friends and family visiting, but for the most part, Camilla and Charles just wanted time together.
“They’d go for walks around the ground and wanted to spend time with each other. There was still a formality to it.”
The chef explained that each day the couple would have dinner cooked for them. He said: “They had three meals a day and we would share three ideas for starters, mains, and puds for the meals. They would pick.
“One of Charles’ biggest points is making use of seasonal produce and nothing going to waste. He loves game meat and Camilla loves fish, so we prepared a lot of meals with that. And asparagus was in season, so we used that.”
While the King and Queen’s relationship was still quite controversial when they first wed, this has changed over the years.
Since becoming King and Queen in 2022, with their formal Coronation in 2023, Charles and Camilla have seen their popularity grow, with many now approving of the couple and the love they share.
