IDEGO Celebrates Rapzilla Freshman Class Honor With New Songs “Pray Some” and “SHOCKING!”

Emerging Christian hip-hop artist and producer IDEGO is celebrating a major milestone in his career after being named to Rapzilla’s 2026 Freshman Class, a recognition that highlights rising voices shaping the future of Christian hip-hop.

The honor arrives alongside the release of two new songs from the Nashville-born artist: the lyric video for “Pray Some,” which premiered through Jesus Freak Hideout, and his latest single “SHOCKING!”

For IDEGO, being included in the annual Rapzilla Freshman list is both an encouraging milestone and a confirmation that his creative direction is resonating.

“To me, being named as a part of the 2026 Rapzilla Freshmen shows me that I’m doing the right thing,” IDEGO shared. “It’s incredibly validating to be a part of a class with so many talented artists.”

The artist also noted the special significance of sharing the recognition with two close friends, fellow artists Peair and Yakithekid.

“It almost feels like a ‘God wink’ that I get to be in the class with them,” he said.

Rapzilla’s Freshman Class has historically introduced audiences to some of the most influential voices in Christian hip-hop, including artists such as KB, Andy Mineo, nobigdyl., and WHATUPRG, making the recognition an important platform for emerging talent.

IDEGO’s latest releases reflect his mission to combine bold lyricism with messages of faith. On “Pray Some,” the artist delivers bars focused on the importance of prayer and spiritual discipline when facing life’s challenges.

Meanwhile, his new single “SHOCKING!” explores the tension between temptation and redemption. The song blends elements of rap, phonk, and EDM, creating a dynamic sound while highlighting the message that faith can reshape how believers respond to adversity.

Through both tracks, IDEGO emphasizes that music can serve as both artistic expression and a form of worship.

“For me, the art I make is a form of worship,” he explained. “I want people to enjoy my music outside of the Christian world simply because it sounds good.”

The artist’s unique stage name also carries deeper meaning. IDEGO says the name originated during his AP Psychology class in high school, where he learned about the psychological concepts of the “id” and the “ego.”

“The id represents instinctual desires, while the ego represents the conscious side,” he said. “I thought the idea of those two sides existing within a person was really interesting, so I combined the words and created IDEGO.”

Growing up in Nashville, music was always present in IDEGO’s life. His father worked in artist management and was involved in the early days of TobyMac’s Gotee Records, working with artists such as GRITS and Relient K. His mother also worked in product development and branding within the music industry.

While Christian music was a constant influence at home, IDEGO eventually expanded his musical interests to include artists like Kanye West, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar, whose creativity inspired him both as a lyricist and producer.

During his time studying Commercial Music Production at Samford University, IDEGO began producing tracks for artists in the Christian underground scene, including Peair and A3, while networking at festivals such as Holy Smoke!

Originally focused on production, IDEGO later began writing and performing over his own beats-a turning point that led him to pursue a career as an artist.

“I kind of fell in love with it,” he said. “That’s when I realized I wanted to be an artist.”

Now with new music releasing and industry recognition growing, IDEGO is steadily carving out a space where creative hip-hop production and faith-centered messaging can coexist.

With the support of the Rapzilla Freshman Class recognition and a growing catalog of music, the rising artist is preparing to introduce his sound and message to an even wider audience.
