A new era has begun with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra.
As of Wednesday, Benjamin Klemme took over as music director of the orchestra. He serves on the faculty of Wheaton College. Klemme says he was drawn to the role due to the “IVSO’s commitment to ensuring everyone in the Illinois Valley has opportunities to discover, experience and enjoy orchestral music through access to high-quality live performances”.
Klemme was selected after a guest conductor appearance last month at the orchestra’s season finale. IVSO General Manager Aelsa Woods says “We’re thrilled to be moving into a new era of the IVSO with Ben at the helm of the orchestra”.
