Channel 10 has revealed the identities of two more I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! contestants, and one of them is a huge name from the 90s.
Rachel Hunter is the “international supermodel” the network has been dropping clues about for weeks, and Dyson Heppell is the “AFL A-lister”.
Both will be seen entering the jungle alongside Luke Bateman and a bunch of other stars on tonight’s season opening episode at 7pm.
What you need to know about Rachel
Rachel Hunter is a model from New Zealand who dominated international magazine covers in the 90s, with spreads in Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan and Vogue.
She is also well known for her past relationship with singer Rod Stewart, who is 24 years her senior.
The pair married in 1990 and welcomed two children before splitting after eight years.
Speaking to news.com.au earlier this week, Hunter said she’s aware that people are interested in her past relationship, but added it’s not exactly a topic she likes to discuss all the time.
“ There was a phase that I was obviously married and we were happily married, and then we ended up getting divorced, so there is a little of … ‘oh god, do we have to repeat this?’” she said. “Because obviously Rod is in a different place, I’m in a different place, and we’ve moved on.”
Stewart, 81, is now married to his third wife, Penny Lancaster, and the couple have two children together, bringing Stewart’s total to eight from all of his relationships.
“He’s in a beautiful marriage and has got all these beautiful children which we’re all very close to, all the mothers,” Hunter told news.com.au, adding that she prefers not to comment too much on her marriage out of respect for all those involved.
Random career highlight
In addition to being a hugely successful model, Hunter has appeared in a number of TV shows including The Drew Carey Show, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars and The Vicar of Dibley.
And how about this for a fun fact … Hunter also starred in the music video for the 2003 song Stacy’s Mom by Fountains of Wayne, with the video becoming one of the most instantly recognisable clips of the era.
“ Stacy’s Mom was completely unexpected,” Hunter told news.com.au. “Never ever did I think it was going to pop off like that.”
The actress said she accepted the job without really knowing what the song was about, and it wasn’t until after its release that she listened to the lyrics.
“I was like, ‘oh shit,’” she laughed.
AFL A-lister
Joining Hunter in the jungle will be Dyson Heppell who played more than 250 AFL games for Essendon before retiring in 2024.
When asked why he said yes to I’m a Celeb, Heppell told news.com.au, “ to meet some new people, have a crack at some challenges, and I think it’ll be a good chance to put the phone down for a bit.”
The 33-year-old has a reputation in footy circles for being a top bloke, but he’s worried Australia might potentially see a different side to him in the jungle.
“Maybe I might go real rogue when I’m hungry and delirious from a lack of sleep,” he laughed. “I think I will go quiet, and that’s when you know I’m about to snap.”
