ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is reportedly set to launch a brand new spin-off based in the Canadian wilderness
I’m A Celebrity is reportedly set to launch an exciting new spin-off series, this time based in the Canadian wilderness.
Just days after the most turbulent finale in the ITV show’s history — which witnessed a very public falling-out between David Haye and Jimmy Bullard, as well as winner Adam Thomas — reports have emerged that a new spin-off is currently in development.
Producers have reportedly given the green light to a fresh version of the programme, which will once again be fronted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
The new format will see celebrities paired together and left to survive in the Canadian wilderness, marking a significant departure for the beloved ITV series.
A source told The Sun: “This has all been very hush-hush, but everyone involved is really excited to get cracking with filming. The scenery will be stunning and the action explosive.
“Imagine the tension of two stars paired together, forced to eat, sleep, breathe and work together in constant near proximity. There will likely be fireworks and already some pretty big names are in the mix to appear.”
Walesonline have contacted ITV for comment. The news arrives just days after the conclusion of the South Africa All Stars series, which saw Adam accused of “intimidating, abusive and aggressive” behaviour by Jimmy Bullard following a heated dispute during the Rancid Run trial, reports the Mirror.
During the finale, Jimmy told the former Emmerdale star: “Listen, Adam and all of you can be upset with me and I absolutely threw him under the bus, I get it and I’ll wear that.
“But what I don’t stand on, is someone being abusive, aggressive and intimidating, I don’t stand on that.” He then turned to hosts Ant and Dec, inviting them to weigh in on the matter.
“You were there and you didn’t show any of that footage. You didn’t show any of the C-bombs, it’s a liberty,” Jimmy told them. Ant pushed back, saying: “The reason we didn’t air the C-bomb is because that is unbroadcastable. I was there and I didn’t think it was intimidating. I was there Jim.”
David then intervened in support of Jimmy against Adam, who was seated directly in front of him. The soap star cut in with: “Let the finalists speak,” drawing cheers from the crowd.
Adam responded: “I take full responsibility for my actions and yes emotions were definitely running high in that moment. I have nothing but love for Jimmy in that moment. I have apologised to Jimmy on numerous occasions and I do take everything that he is saying into account and the only thing I can do is apologise.
“That is not how I want to show myself off and I have never shown myself off like that before or after that. I do apologise Jimmy.” The situation then descended into chaos, and once the programme concluded, both David and Jimmy claimed they had been “kicked out” of the final.
