Ashley Hamilton, the son of I’m A Celeb legend George Hamilton, has been rushed to hospital after suffering an overdose from an unknown substance
The son of an I’m A Celebrity legend has been rushed to hospital after suffering an overdose. Ashley Hamilton, who is the son of acting royalty George Hamilton, was reportedly discovered at an Airbnb in Los Angeles, having suffered from an overdose-related emergency.
It’s reported that the Iron Man 3 star was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after emergency service workers responded to a call. Sources claim that Ashley is now in stable condition, according to American publication TMZ.
Ashley, who married the late Shannen Doherty after knowing her for just two weeks, made his acting debut in the 1993 movie Beethoven’s 2nd before going on to star in Lost in America, Off Key, Sunset Beach, and Iron Man 3.
Hamilton was just 19 when he married Doherty, but the marriage lasted just five months before the couple made the decision to divorce one another. But Ashley also starred in a huge family reality series, when his step-father was none other than legendary rocker, Sir Rod Stewart.
Ashley, along with his siblings, Kimberly Stewart and Sean Stewart, appeared in the 2015 series, Stewarts & Hamiltons. Meanwhile, his dad, George, appeared on I’m A Celeb in 2009.
During his time in the jungle, he famously clashed with Queen of Clean, the late Kim Woodburn, over camp chores before walking out on Day 17, citing personal reasons.
In the past, Ashley has been open about his struggles with addiction and during his time on the family reality show, said he’d been experiencing a “hard time” during his battle. But while he’s battled his own struggles, Ashley has also helped others in a similar position by becoming a sober companion to help people going through substance abuse.
Just several weeks ago, Ashley, who is battling a rare mucosal HPV-related cancer, said that he was sending paperwork to a “clinic” in Switzerland as he didn’t want to die in a “motel room”. He said: “What I don’t wanna do is, I don’t wanna die in a motel with a f***in’ needle in my neck and leave that stain on my daughter and leave that stain on people around me. That I don’t wanna do. As easy as that would be for me to do, I don’t wanna do that to people.”
Just last year, Ashley opened up about his personal life, saying he had been through “two failed marriages, two failed careers, 32 rehabs, five overdoses, three flatlines, two comas, left side of my body paralyzed, brain surgery, spleen surgery of course, staph infection in the heart, gangrene of the arms, of course shootouts from drug deals gone bad and half a dozen arrests, all by the age of 22,” he told Soft White Underbelly.
