As someone who writes about television for a living, I’m constantly asked what shows to watch. I always have a few recommendations on hand—and one of them is usually Bridgerton.
Originally premiering on Netflix in 2020, the period piece showcases the love lives of a wealthy family in Regency England. I’ve enjoyed watching each Bridgerton come of age and navigate their search for their forever partner. This season, we get to gawk as Benedict (Luke Thompson) tries to find his happy ending with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The final batch of episodes is released on Netflix on Thursday, February 26.
But what are you supposed to do once you inevitably binge the remainder of the season? I was determined to find other TV shows that felt reminiscent of the program I adore so much. And luckily, you can find other great period dramas to sink into while you impatiently wait for whatever comes next for “the Ton.”
Whether it be venturing to Scotland in Outlander or exploring New York high society in The Gilded Age, there’s plenty of romance and drama to explore. Now, I’ll just go plop on my couch and have a watch party. Why don’t you join me?
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Queen Charlotte is one of the beloved characters on Bridgerton, so it only makes sense to see how the royal’s reign came to be! This show portrays Charlotte’s road to love with King George III, and fans won’t be able to help but feel emotional.
Leonardo

Before Jonathan Bailey portrayed a viscount on Bridgerton, he was busy playing a young Leonardo da Vinci in the youth series Leonardo. Outlander

When 20th-century nurse Claire Randall finds herself on a vacation to Scotland, she never expected to travel back in time to one of the most radical eras in history. Between getting caught up in fights for independence and falling in love with Jacobite soldier Jamie Fraser, fans will feel all the things as they watch the couple’s romance get steamier with every season.
The Buccaneers

Inspired by the lives of the famed family from the Italian Renaissance, Medici showcases the inner workings of their political rise to power. Dustin Hoffman portrays the family patriarch and Richard is Madden, one of his sons. Fans will come for the names and stay for the story.
House of Guinness
