Inaugural Entertainment is turning up the volume with today’s announcement of the release date for its Green Day–inspired comedy NIMRODS, along with a new partnership with Legion M, the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company. The film will rock theaters on August 14.

NIMRODS is a coming-of-age story about three friends (Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust) who journey to Los Angeles, mistakenly believing that their band is opening for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. Their roadtrip is a rowdy and mischievous jaunt across the country filled with adventures, based on the exploits of Green Day and their years of living in a tour van.

The star-studded cast includes Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Ignacio Diaz- Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, Sean Gunn, and Mckenna Grace.

Credits include Producers Tim Perell for Process, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool.  Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino for Live Nation Studios and Jonathan Daniel are Executive Producers.

The announcement follows Legion M’s recent co-release of the spoof comedy FACKHAM HALL, in partnership with Bleecker Street, which also served as the first project for the company’s newly launched Legion M Film Fund. The fund, designed to finance the marketing and distribution of films, quickly reached its $1 million allocation with strong demand from investors, reflecting a broader shift toward more sustainable distribution strategies. Together, FACKHAM HALL and now NIMRODS highlight how Legion M is leveraging both its capital and its community to help films break through in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

“We LOVED this movie the moment we saw it at TIFF,” said Legion M co-founders Jeff Annison and Paul Scanlan. “Green Day wouldn’t exist without the fans, and we’re excited to give those fans the opportunity to own a stake in the film as we work with the incredibly talented teams at Inaugural, Live Nation and Green Day to bring it to audiences. Nimrods is exactly the kind of film we’re built for. It’s bold, original and designed to be experienced together. When our community rallies behind something they love, it has a real impact, and we’re excited to put that to work here.”

“NIMRODS is the kind of film that audiences are going to want to experience together in a theater,” said Kevin Weisberg, Founder and CEO of Inaugural Entertainment. “It captures the humor, chaos and rebellious spirit that made Green Day such a cultural force, while telling a genuinely entertaining coming-of-age story. We’re thrilled to partner with Legion M and Live Nation Studios to help bring this film to fans nationwide on August 14.”

“NIMRODS captures the irreverence and raw energy that feels true to Green Day’s roots,” said Ryan Kroft, Head of Film & TV for Live Nation Studios. “As Live Nation Studios continues to expand our narrative storytelling, this partnership with Inaugural and Legion M offers a forward-thinking approach that builds fan momentum for the U.S. premiere on August 14th.”
